Will I get my money back if I don’t show up on time but it is not my fault?

No. We cannot be responsible for any delays from your side for whatever reason. Please ensure at your pick up destination well before the scheduled time.

How many people will participate on our tour?

Our local experienced guides only take small groups to ensure you have an unforgettable experience. That’s why we run our tours with a minimum number of 4 people and a maximum number of 14 participants, plus your friendly guide.

Can I cancel my booking?

Of course you can.

  • Cancellation less then 24 hours prior to departure date and time or no show: no refund.
  • Cancellation less then 48 hours but more then 24 hours prior to departure date and time: refund 75% of the full tour price (25% of the full tour price will be held back as cancellation fee).
  • Cancellation more than 48 hours prior to departure date and time : refund 85% of the full tour price (15% of the full tour price will be held back as cancellation fee).
  • Note: Special Offer bookings and Private Tours are not refundable.

What happens if I book for a tour and there are not sufficient numbers to run it?

There are a minimum number of 4 people to run our tours (your booking, plus 3 others to make up the 4). If the minimum number is not reached there are two options: you go on another day or you can get a full refund. Private tours are also available upon request.

Can I leave my backpack, suitcase, bag or surfboard with you during the time I am on your tour?

Yes. We can store your backpack, suitcase, bag or surfboard at our premises for free for the time you participate on our tour. Please let us know at the time of your booking whether you want to use this service to arrange the details. However, you will have to pick up your items immediately after finishing the tour.

What should I wear?

You should wear comfortable clothes and covered shoes (sneakers or trainers are fine).

What should I bring?

Bring a daypack size backpack up to 20 liters volume to carry your belongings. These should include the following:

  • full water bottle
  • sun glasses, sun screen and hat
  • bathers and small towel
  • raincoat (the weather is changeable)
  • a change of clothes (if the weather is wet)
  • camera (to capture your amazing moments)

What should I bring for the overnight stay?

You don’t have to bring any camping equipment. We will provide tents, sleeping mattresses, sleeping bags and even flash lights. However, you should bring your toiletries, warm clothes for the cooler nights between May and October. Please remember that space in the car is very limited. If you bring more than your daypack you may have to leave it home.

Do I have to bring any food or water?

No. All meals and snacks are included in the tour price. Just bring a full water bottle that you can carry during the tour. We will also provide water to refill your bottle.

Can I bring any alcohol on the tour?

No.

Do I have to sign a waiver?

Yes. Every participant of our tours has to sign a waiver before we start the tour. Although we take every measure to keep you safe, well and happy, we do strongly recommend that you have your own insurance in place.

Will I have mobile reception at all destinations on the tour?

It depends on the network you are with. When we go bush, reception may be limited or unavailable in some instances.

I‘m Vegetarian. Can you cater for this?

Yes. When you do your booking let us know what you can eat and we will do our best to take care of that.

Do tours take place when it rains?

Yes. That’s part of the fun! Our tours will operate in all weather conditions. Byron Bay Adventure Tours reserves the right to cancel any tour in case of hazardous weather conditions as your safety is our first priority. In this case you will get a full refund.
